Devotional Reading "The Reason"

Scripture: Read through 1 Peter 4:1-6  a few times. Peter is telling the Church of Asia Minor the reason for the Gospel. The Gospel is to bring the dead to life!

Meditation: What does this passage teach us about your suffering? About how you relate to the world? Are you chasing passions that are of this world, or are you chasing God’s Will for our life? 

Prayer: Tell Go of his Righteousness. Of how he brings life. Confess where you have chased things that are not worthy of your new life in Christ. Praise God for how he suffered to bring you new life, even when you were still spiritually dead. Ask him to help you in the areas where you are weak to pursue the “passions of the world”. 

Contemplation: Reflect on John 14:6  

Jesus answered, “I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.”

Spiritual Discipline: Meditate on 1 Peter 4:6 throughout the day. Allow God to bring it to your mind. Think on it. Repeat it as a whole. Repeat and listen to every word.
